World's First True Blue Roses Naturally

world first true natural blue Rose

first time displayed in Tokyo in 2009
True blue roses are rare to find even today. Generally we see the blue roses in the market are either dyed or created through crossbreeding. Blue roses created by traditional hybridizing techniques called Hybrid tea roses look like purple roses. The gene of the enzyme that produces the blue pigment, Delphinidin, is not found naturally in rose petals to begin with. For the delphinidin in the flower to appear blue the plant must be able to maintain a level of acidity within the cell to make the pigment appear blue.

Japanese distiller and beverage manufacturer Suntory Ltd. began its quest for the blue roses in a joint venture with Australian biotechnology firm Florigene Ltd. in 1990. Since roses do not naturally possess the gene for delphinidin, genetic engineers needed to transfer the gene from another plant that had the gene.

World's further Dream

Their first attempts were to move the delphinidin gene from petunia. They were not successful at using this version of the gene in the rose, but they were able to move the delphinidin gene from petunia into carnation. The first blue carnations were marketed in Japan, North America and Australia by 1997 under the brand name 'Moondust'.

Suntory's genetic engineers had finally got success in their research in 2004. They extracted the gene that produces blue pigment in pansies and activated it inside the roses. The petals of Suntory's blue roses contain nearly 100 percent of the blue pigment. They also used genetic machinery to suppress the red pigments naturally present in roses. With nearly 100% blue-pigmented petals, blue rose 'APPLAUSE' is the world's first naturally blue rose went on sale in Tokyo in 2009 and first time exported  in North America in 2011.

True Green Roses

True green roses are extremely rare among naturally-colored roses. It may be difficult for someone to believe, but it can not be denied so far. In fact, until 1700, all the species were pink, white, or some other interesting combinations. After decades when red rose came into existence in Europe, rose-fans got their first glimpse of green roses (Rosa chinensis 'viridiflora'), cultivated in 1740s and those were so weird that most didn't recognize them for what they were. They blooms like rose with green leaves but petals are also like leaves.

The first true green roses were miniature roses that can be produced after 1960. By the by breeders had managed to produce green roses of the normal "floribunda" size. They appeared in different shades, like soft-green, light green, miniature-green, mint green etc. Like blue roses, natural green roses also look unique and pleasant. The buds start with peach color and turn to apple green over a period of a some days with the development of chloroplast uniformly on all the petals. Color and Petals stabilities depend on climatological conditions of the place.

The Golghar, Patna

The Golghar (Round House) located at Patna, Bihar, India is a wonderful Monument and Historical Place.
The Gol Ghar

Description : The Golghar or Gol Ghar ("Round House") is a wonderful granary located at west of Gandhi Maidan, Patna (The Capital of Bihar State), India. It was built in 1786 by Captain John Garstin for the purpose of storing grains for the British Army. The building has a foundation of 125 m, and a height of 29 m. and pillar-less with a wall of thickness of 3.6 m at the base. One can climb atop the Golghar through the 145 steps of its spiral stairway around the monument.

The spiral staircase was designed so as to facilitate the passage of the coolies, who had to carry grain-bags up one flight, deliver their load through a hole at the top, and descend the other stairs. The top of the Golghar presents a wonderful panoramic view of the city and the Ganges flowing nearby. At the time of its construction, it was the tallest building in Patna.

One interesting fact about the Golghar is that never it been filled to its maximum capacity and there are no plans in future too. The reason for this is that due to oversight while construction of the Golghar, the doors were designed to open inside. Thus, if it is filled to its maximum capacity, then the doors will not open.

Puesta de sol- en- Finisterre
by Pilar López

Latin name Finisterrae, which literally means "Land's End". Cape Finisterre is a rock-bound peninsula on the west coast of Galicia, Spain. Monte Facho is the name of the mountain on Cape Finisterre, which has a peak that is 238 meters above sea level. A prominent lighthouse is at the top of Monte Facho. The seaside town of Fisterra is nearby. The sight of sunset looks calm and beautiful.

Cape Finisterre has some spectacular Beaches, including O Rostro, Arnela, Mar de Fora, Langosteira, Riveira, and Corbeiro. Many of the beaches are framed by steep cliffs leading down to the Mare Tenebrosum (or dark sea, the name of the Atlantic in the Middle Ages). There are several rocks in this area associated with religious legends, such as the "holy stones", the "stained wine stones", the "stone chair", and the tomb of the Celtic crone-goddess Orcabella.
