An Indian National Party "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) uses the Lotus as its election symbol. It is also the national flower of India and Vietnam.

Description : Lotus 'Kamal' is a water plant. It has showy flower with floating leaves on water. It looks pretty and attractive by shape and colors such as White Lotus (Safed Kamal), Blue Lotus (Neel Kamal), Pink Lotus (Gulabi Kamal) and some times Yellow too. It is commonly found in Asia. The roots of the Lotus are planted in the soil of the pond or river bottom, while the leaves float on top of the water surface.
